My mum's just left after visiting for the weekend (alone again now *sadface*). But I had a really lovely time whilst she was here, and I got a few presents! (Yay :P). We both decided we deserved a few nice things whilst we were out, but we didn't go too crazy :P
I fell in love with these Faith heels when I first saw them. I decided to leave them for a while to browse other things, but in the end I had to go back and get them! I adore them * - * I have my shoes for my birthday night out, now I just need the rest of the outfit!
The Fat Face scarf was a total impulse buy, but I love it. The orange and pink look so lovely against the white, and as I've been wearing scarfs loads this summer I thought I'd treat myself to another :P
I really wanted a large round brush to try and tame my unruly hair, I love the soft waves look, I just need to practice it first :P
Less excitingly I also picked up a pair of brown leather flats for everyday (forgot to take a photo :P) and a couple of vests because I always seem to need them.
I had such a lovely day browsing lots and lots of shops :) Yesterday me and my mum bought white chocolate ice cream (soooo lovely) and watched Bride Wars and Kick Ass, a very good film day :P
I'm looking forward to more shopping trips now :P Once I start buying things I really can't stop myself :P

Korea Diary 3 : Hello Kitty Cafe and Fishies!
Ahhh, walking around all day has killed my poor little feet > . < I've been going to bed so much earlier since I've been in Korea! It's all these activities (and an awful lot of shopping :P) making me tired and making me go to bed so much earlier! Last night I went to bed at 10...10! Being a normal late night living student that I am my usual bedtime is more around 5am :P I'm not sure if I like this change or not...:P
So yesterday was pouring it down, literally chucking buckets. We'd decided to go to the Hello Kitty cafe, but it was SO HARD TO FIND! After 2 1/2 hours of walking through the rain (my darling grey Zara pumps got soaked) we finally found it. If any of you guys are ever in Seoul looking for it ignore ALL the directions given on the internet. They all say 'get off at exit 5' for the train. They LIED, it's exit NINE!
The Hello Kitty Cafe was worth it though, it was brimming with cuteness, the only things on the menu were filled with sugar and fat :D Perfect for munching on after a long hard walk in the rain :P Everything was Hello Kitty themed, the chairs, the food, the tables (the emergency exit signs :P), even the bathrooms! I loved it :P A bit childish maybe, but it's my idea of heaven :P Hot pink heaven :P
We also visited Artbox, which may just be my favourite shop in the entire world! I got nearly all of my
friends pressies from there, and also got myself these goodies :D
As you can probably tell the cute clothes were my favourite part :P I got a tank top with tiny cats all over it and jammie shorts with elephants on them! I also got these three pairs of ankle socks for only 50p each! My favourite thing though was the adorable camera case with a grumpy looking cat on it. My old case was boring and bulky and plain, this one makes me so happy everytime I see it!
Today me and my friend visited the enormous COEX mall to go to the aquarium. I love aquariums (good really seeing as I'm studying marine biology :P), so I really wanted to go to this one. It was enormous, it just kept going and going and going. It had an amazing array of animals in brilliant unique tanks, (and some random animals like hedgehogs and fruitbats too for some reason :P).
The most exciting part of the aquarium for me was the manatee tank, I've never seen a manatee in real life before and I've always been fascinated by them. It was so amazing to watch them swimming around their exhibit! It really makes me want to study them more > . < They looked like huge adorable cuddly toys!
There was also an underwater tunnel through the shark exhibit. I love sharks so much (they had about 4 different species in that tank) but the speakers were playing the Jaws theme through the tunnel. It was so creepy! The tunnel was also really long, and quite dark, so I'd just be walking along watching the fish when suddenly dun dun dun dun dun dun duh duh duhhh! :P A little bit of a tense atmosphere really :P
I had to have this fluffy turtle, I'm a sucker for cuddly toys in giftshops :P
On the way back from the aquarium to the train station we had to walk through the whole mall, and as I have no willpower at all I of course bought some things. I saw the Jimmy Choo perfume that I had wanted ever since I smelled a sample in a magazine agesss ago (you can read the post here ) and had to buy it :P Probably a little silly, but I thought whilst I was on a spending spree I may as well. I also got an adorable sample size version of the Swarovski Aura perfume, which is a really nice flowery fragrance.
Next we went to a Totoro shop. I squealed when I saw it. Literally stood there squealing in public... But it was a Totoro shop!!! Sadly everything was ridiculously expensive in there :( So I only bought two little things, I got a teeny weeny Totoro for myself and a little set of Totoro figures for my boyfriend (because he loves Totoro too, but isn't into cute cuddly toys like I am :P).
I totally accidentally went into another Artbox. That shop is just too incredible for words!! I want EVERYTHING. But I restrained myself (a bit :P) and only bought a few things. I got two pretty notebooks, because I'm always writing lists, or notes, or doodling so I run through notebooks at a ridiculous rate (and because they were too pretty to say no to :P). I also got a headband with sequined detailing because I've gotten really into hair accessories lately (I just need to master the cute hairstyles to go with them! :P).
Phew, no wonder I'm so tired out! Tomorrow we're going to go to the Hwaseong Fortress, which is quite near where I'm currently staying (near as in a bus journey not a train journey away :P). So we won't have any long journeys tomorrow. Just relaxed sightseeing and NO SHOPPING! :P I've seriously overspent so am trying to cool it for a few days :P We'll see how long that lasts... :P

p.s. I may have been eaten by a shark today...

Korea Diary 2 : Shopping in Myongdong and Korean Clubs
Right now I am tired. Very very tired, and my hair still stinks of smoke, even after a hairwash and multiple squirts of perfume. Last night my friend took me out to some Korean clubs in Seoul. Oh. My. God. They're a little bit different from the English clubs I know and love :P But that's the second part of this post, earlier in the day we went to Myongdong, so I'll start with that :P
Myongdong is a REALLY busy shopping area in Seoul. It has sooooo many shops, it feels like we hardly went into any. And on top of that there are stalls out on the streets and motorbikes slowly weaving their way through the crowds, a little terrifying, but a lot of fun. I may have bought a few things again, but a lot less than my last haul :P I tried to stay out of the beauty shops (my weakness). I did see a Laneige, but we were in a hurry to catch out train so I couldn't go in :( Next time maybe...
The first shop was a slightly tacky souvenir shop :P (I love these). I accidentally spent £40 on a handmade jewellery box for my mum... > . < Oops, I got confused with the number of 0's on the price and by the time I realised she was already wrapping it up, so I decided to keep it and I hope my mum REALLY likes it :P. I also got a couple of other (considerably cheaper) souvenirs for people and a couple for myself. I couldn't resist this cute Hello Kitty in a hanbok and a Girls Generation notebook :p
Next we went to Forever 21, but this was for practical reasons, I know it's boring to go to a global chain whilst in a foreign country, but I needed a dress for clubbing (I also hadn't been to a Forever 21 yet, despite there being a few in England). I picked up this gorgeous dark orange chiffon dress, I literally walked past, fell in love and grabbed it. (Ignore the slight stains in the photo, I wore it last night and may have spilled tequila on it...).
The next two items weren't needed for the night out, but I felt as though I needed them in my life :P I got this mint green scarf (I need more Spring pastels!) and this cute floaty umbrella top :D
Outside on the street, whilst my friend was buying shoes from a stall, I found another stall packed with cute dresses. I've wanted a white lacy dress for the longest time, and had to have this one.
Final buy of the day was this cute panda eyemask, I love how adorable and sad the panda looks > . <
We went into loads more shops, but I managed to restrain myself in those :P
Later in the day we went out clubbing, it was an hour and a half train journey (ewww > . <) to the part of Seoul where the club was. We arrived at 8:30, and went to a bar for pre-drinks until about 11:30. I tried Soju for the first time, I didn't think it was that bad until a couple of (shared :P) bottles down the line when I stood up and fell right back down again :P.
After pre's we got to the club, which was one of the weirdest things I've ever experienced. Firstly people are allowed to smoke in clubs, my eyes were watering and it smelled horrible. Secondly most people seemed to be dancing in a strangely uniform way, facing the dj and doing the same dances to particular songs. Thirdly, the guys were like mosquitoes. They. Would. Not. Leave. Us. Alone. Normally guys in English clubs are a bit persistent, but the Korean guys took it to a whole new level > . <. One guy kept trying to put his hands round my waist even after I'd 1) told him no, 2) told him I had a boyfriend, 3) shook my head at him and waved him away 4) after I'd elbowed him in the ribs (for trying to grind against me) 5) after I'd turned around, shouted go away (perhaps with worse language :P) and given him the finger. Normally people would get the message after number 3.
Because the trains didn't run again until 5:30 we didn't get home til 7am. So I fell into bed for 12 hours and woke up just as it was getting dark again :P. Right now I feel a little bit surreal, and hungry for chocolate. I need chocolate...why is it night time...I want chocolate!
The worst thing about Korean clubbing? No chip shops on the way home...

Shopping Makes Me Happy
Today I woke up at 2pm and it was raining. Not shocking for Northern Wales, but still. It's always nice to be woken up with the sun shining through your curtains and birds chirping away. But no, I got rain.
Sunny xxxxx
Rather than let the weather get me down I thought I'd do the sensible thing and waste some money on clothes :D Despite being rained on a bit I had a great day out, my friend bought a hat with an owl on it, and I saw a girl wearing MY panda hat *gasps*.
I also cut my finger...that bit wasn't so much fun...
First we wandered over to H&M to start things off cheap and cheerful. I bought this Guns N Roses t-shirt which I thought I could wear clubbing or casually. It was about £10. I also got this long vest in burgundy. I love love LOVE the colour ^ - ^ It looked pretty versatile and was only £5.
Then we went to Topshop and I bought this super soft checkered shirt. It was about £25, so not exactly bank breaking, and really cute. I need a nice warm casual shirt for this Welsh weather :P
Finally I went into Accessorise to have a look at their half price sale. I got this adorable necklace with a china clog on it. So ridiculously cute ^ - ^ and these heart earrings :) They were only £3 each, total bargain :D Very happy with this.
Now I'm back home looking at the pretty things on my bed (yes I do have cupcake bedsheets XD). Mmmmm pretty things. :D
