Purple and Gold Christmas Nails

Hello! Christmas is really just around the corner (kinda), I'm revising like mad so I can give myself a few days off over Christmas > . < It makes me think I should have done a little more during termtime...

Anywayyyyy, as a break from revising I decided to make my nails a little more festive, I used my Urban Decay Hashbury purple polish (I love all of my Urban Decay polishes, they're gorgeous and only need one coat) and then topped it off with a Christmassy sprinkling of glitter with Nails Inc. Glamour Glitter polish (free in last months Glamour magazine).

I'm still looking for my perfect high coverage gold glitter polish for Christmas day, I'm sure I'll find it!

Rose Gold Nails

Just a quick post today, about this gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous Urban Decay polish. I'm very much in love with this colour (have it on my toes too). It's perfect for this last little bit of summer that's still hanging on.

The polish is from my Summer Of Love minis collection and is called Shine On. It's such a great polish to use, one coat and it's opaque. I've had it on for a couple of days (without a topcoat because I'm lazy) and it hasn't even thought of chipping. The only downside is that I only have the mini and it's half way used > . < (not from just one application :P That would be mad).

 
Yesterday I got really excited about uni again, and packed another 3 bags, which means I now have 5 bags full of stuff on my floor :P I never thought I'd be more excited about second year than first! Four days to go... (yes I am counting down :P).

Summer's Day Make Up

Today is my first day of two weeks of being ALL ALONE *grumpy*. My dad's gone on holiday and left me to look after the pets *grumble grumble* :P Although hopefully I'll be seeing my lovely mummy at the weekend, so maybe I won't be entirely lonely :P

Anyway, in the meantime I thought I'd show you a make up look I'd wear on a lovely sunny day (i.e a day unlike today :P). Last week was really lovely, and this week...not so much :P

I really love my Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop, it's so bright and vibrant. I know it's not for everyone, but I love wearing bright colours on my lips :)

I toned it down for my eyes, using my Naked palette to create a neutral eye. I used : Virgin, Naked, Smog and Dark Horse. Very simple and not too heavy so it doesn't compete with the lip colour.

My plan for the day is to go on a run (I'll get ready right after writing this I promise!). I've been trying to motivate myself to actually do some exercise, but I'm just so lazy :P I really do have good intentions for a bit of a health kick though, no naughty foods in the house (sad sad sad), lots of salad, fruit and fresh veggies. I can do it!

Nail Polish Collection

I'm supposed to be tidying my house today...or not :P It's grey and miserable outside right now (shocking :P) and I want nothing more than to curl up in bed with a warm cup of tea and a good book. But no, I will be good and do all my chores because this weekend I'm going to go on a shopping trip with my mum for a couple of days :D Yayyy, I'm looking forward to shopping again so much > . <

Anyway, this morning I've been looking through my nail polish collection and throwing out the old skanky ones, and I thought I'd show you the polishes which made the cut. So here is my nail polish collection:

First the base coats/top coats, L - R : Natural Collection - Peach Manicure, Pink Manicure. Etude House - WH701. Max Factor - Crystal Clear. Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength.

Barry M and Collection 2000, L - R: Barry M - Nail Effects Black, Berry Ice Cream, Lemon Ice Cream, Mint Green. Collection 2000 - Ebony, Hot Purple.

My old Eyeko polishes, I got these a couple of years ago at an Eyeko stall back when they had their old 'cute' packaging. Eyeko doesn't sell polishes anymore, and these aren't the greatest, but I love their packaging. L - R: Eyeko - Vamp, Disco, Pastel, Pretty, Punk, Saucy Red.

Polishes I meant to use for nail art, but never got around to :P (I think these were meant to be for apple nails) L - R:  The Face Shop - RD302, WH002, GR502. Claire's (no name, this was for halloween, it's a really skanky green colour, but I'm keeping it for fancy dress :P).

So that's all my polishes in my collection, right now I'm keeping them in a make up bag, which is not very convenient at all. Nearer to September I'm planning a big 'house' shop, so hopefully I'll find a better storage solution for when I move into my house (so excited about having a house next year at uni!!!).

Also I passed my first year, so I'm definitely going back in September *happy dance*, after several dreams that I'd failed completely I'm very glad to have my results :P

Simple Daytime Look Using Naked

After the gloriously hot and sunny day yesterday today is a little bit of a disappointment, to say the least. I was planning on lying outside in the garden, reading and sipping fruit juice until evening. Instead I'm sitting on my bed, my dressing gown on for warmth, looking sadly out of the window at the cloudy sky :( England is just so mean sometimes!

However because of this I decided to make a casual daytime look using my Naked palette, I only bought this a couple of weeks ago so it's still all new and pretty, I just want to pet it and tell it that it's mine * _____ *

Anywayyyyyy, this is the simple look I came up with, something I'd wear going out shopping or to a family occasion (like my Grandma's birthday this weekend :D).

 

These are the colours from the Naked palette which I used, I also used the lid colour under my eyes from the outside to halfway in.

 I used Benefit's Bad Gal mascara for my lashes (my favourite mascara in the world ever).

Also my boyfriend is coming over next week (yay ^ - ^) I don't know how much time I'll have to blog because I want to show him around. He hasn't been to my new house since we moved so I have loads to show him, including the woods where the deer live! ^ - ^ It's going to be a good week, but I have a feeling today and tomorrow will go by extra slowwwwwwwwly :P

Very Restrained London Haul

I feel as though I've been away from my poor blog for years and years even though it's only been a week, my poor lonely little blog > . < But I've been having a fantastic time visiting my friends and having fun so it's not all bad :P I spent four days with Daydreamer and then another four in London with another friend. I've had such a busy, but fun week :P

Even though I was in London for the Jubilee I didn't go down to the river to see the procession, the weather was just too awful! I heard people saying you got shouted at if you put up an umbrella, so I'm quite glad I didn't go :P Even so there was a really festive spirit when I did go out, loads of people wrapped in Union Jacks and lots of pretty bunting everywhere ^ - ^

Of course when I went to London I had to go shopping, because, well it's London :P I was really rather restrained, I bought two things (although I'm showing you four because I got two things before I left for my visit :P). But that doesn't mean that I didn't spend a lot, trains, the tube, food and clubs are expensive in London :P (But I did manage to go to Ministry of Sound which was sooo much fun :D).

I finally got Naked, the Urban Decay kind, not the socially awkward arrest worthy kind... I literally ran into House Of Fraser, grabbed Naked, paid and ran back out because we were dashing to catch a film :P (Avengers again :P I love it too much). It was one of my fastest shops ever :P

Used it once it London, bring it home only to find the mirror smashed on the journey > . <

I also popped into Primark to pick up a onesie :P But I've decided onesies are practical student wear, so I HAVE to have one. Next year when I can't afford heating and I'm freezing up in North Wales I will spend all day in my teddy bear onesie, cute and warm :P I've already worn it back at home, despite it being June it IS England, and as I write it's pouring it down outside :(

Finally my before London buys, I got two Andrew Barton products from Asda, these were two for £6, such a brilliant offer. I've been using The Frizz Tamer everyday before I go out and it makes my hair so much sleeker and shinier, really in love. Yesterday I used the hair mask for the first time and loved it too, it smells incredibly yummy and although it is a bit of a hassle to use (wash hair, put on mask, leave overnight, rinse in the morning) it really has made my hair lovely and soft.

That's it for now, in theory my hauls should stop until I either get a job or go back to uni, but lets be honest...there's no way I could ever show that kind of restraint :P
